Yeah I get that. Before WW1 that area is part of the ottoman empire. And does not have many Jewish people living there. I'm fact that area didn't have many Jewish people living their for centuries. After WW1 the ottoman lands are divided amongst the "Allies" and Britain gets Palestine. They vacate the land in 1947. After it was designated a safe space for Jews after the horrors of WW2. I think that to deny the Jews access to their holy land after WW2 would have been cruel and unusual. Of course the Arabs did not feel the same way and felt that the Palestinians had land taken from them on an arbitrary basis.

In 1947 when the UK left Palestine they carved it up. The commissioner who did this was Jewish so their is always the argument that it was biased. I cannot say if it was out it wasn't. But the Arabs then started attacking Israel. And Israel defeated them but they also took Palestinian land. They have been for the last 77 years slowly taking Palestinian land and have had Palestine under siege.

So I agree that the Jewish nation has been under attack for most of the past 3000 years. I agree that that is unacceptable. I agree that they have despite all that managed to make a home for themselves. But a large portion of that home they have done to the Palestinians exactly what was done to them. I'm fact they have done it better. They didn't learn compassion through those ordeals. They learnt how to better the strategies used on them.

Palestine existed. The people were there for centuries. You can't deny their right to life, to land, to self government.

Hamas is the difficulty In the situation. Their terror attack was a heinous act. I live in South Africa growing up benefiting from apartheid. When there were terror attacks it was reported very differently here and in other places. It was almost condoned or at least reported with a this is bad but understandable. For the record I don't like Hamas. I don't like their policies regarding their own citizens. I don't like their terror attacks. But if you are being pushed out by settlers and having military operations coming into your country and having suspects dragged out then maybe I can understand their decision. Again I would never condone it, it was a cowardly heinous act.

So TL;DR

Palestine was there for a long long time before the Israelis returned after WW2. And the Israelis have been taking land that was designated Palestinian ever since and besieging the land Palestine had left

Note I have not proofed this essay, neither have I fact checked dates etc. Sorry I'm tired.
