Recalling I did something like this in Friendica years ago but ended up removing it because of the additional overhead it caused translators - though maybe you can piggyback some of the translations from your chosen mapping provider.
...But mostly because you simply aren't going to be able to find Bugger All, Australia or Whoop Whoop, Australia on a map - especially if I randomise the exact location for privacy.
