What we know about the soon-to-be-released PowKiddy RGB10 MAX3 PRO
The PowKiddy RGB10 MAX 3 PRO is currently available for pre-sale on the PowKiddy web site, so we have a fair amount of detail.
It's available in white, blue, and beige. It has two front-facing speakers. It has in-line shoulder buttons, unlike the stacked shoulder buttons of the RGB10 MAX 2.
It looks as if it runs Linux but not Android. It has a 5 inch screen with a resolution of 854 x 480. This is the same size and resolution as the RGB10 MAX 2.
There is no built-in WiFi. It has a 4,000 mAh battery. There is no mention of HDMI output. However, the linked video shows what looks like a mini-HDMI port.
The SoC used is the Amlogic A311D. AFAICT, this has not been used in another retro handheld, but is used in the Khadas VIM 3 SBC. The closest comparison seems to be the Unisoc Tiger T618, as used in the PowKiddy X28, the Retroid Pocket 3+, and the Anbernic RG405M & RG505. If you look at a comparison between the two chips, the Amlogic part has weaker CPU but a stronger GPU. Is that the right balance? Only time will tell.
