If we're talking about D&D 5e, here's one of my favorites. "So many activities! It's making my head spin, how many activities we could do."

Before I started playing on vtt, I made all my character sheets from scratch. It's a fun exercise to figure out what stuff you really need to reference and what resources you need to track, and how to display that well. But I managed a 1 page sheet for my 5e sorcerer and I didn't even need to look up my spells most of the time

Norton_Glover,

The character sheet for the Mothership RPG cleverly has the rules for character creation built right into the sheet.

That's actually pretty neat!

sambeastie,

Maybe not quite what OP had in mind, but I'm a huge fan of characters that are simple enough to be quickly recorded on just a sheet of notebook paper. Stuff like Maze Rats, Knave, or even some PbtA games. There's something that feels nice about not needing a special layout to surface just the "important parts."

Completely acceptable answer.

aphoric,

The plane stats sheet for Flying Circus is a lot of fun. It does a pretty good job of emulating an aircraft cockpit while still being a functional character sheet. Not pictured are separate cards to be printed out for each engine and weapon system on your aircraft to keep track of their status as well.

cpark2005,

I'm a fan of the Ironsworn character sheets. They manage to make tracking a number of different sliders really easy and straightforward. And it is all a single sheet (plus some cards for assets). Efficient.

Have been reading up on Ironsworn because people keep saying some good things about it (lots of praise for Starforged) but haven't seen the character sheets yet. Will have to take a look at them after work.

cpark2005,

Ironsworn really is a great system. Particularly if you want to play a co-op adventure without a GM.

My favorite is Paranoia XP. I love the double sided sheet of public and secret information, and how well it suits the vibe of the game.

I've never played the game, and the sheets give me the sense that it probably wouldn't be my cup of tea... but Eoris Essence's sheets are beautiful in a way that most character sheets really aren't.

Very very pretty to look at indeed. Interesting to try and decipher them without knowing a thing about the system.

I completely agree. There's an elegance to them right before the anxiety of what that must entail sets in.

I really like the 3.5e ones over at Dyslexic Character Sheets
