I think they can have spaces, but I’m not sure how that plays out on Mastodon when people enter them. And I believe they’re not case sensitive, so JasonAlexander should be the same as jasonalexander.

OK thanks for your insights and input, I will try to add some more. Do you know if tags can have spaces? Also what about case sensitivity, when I enter them in the magazine panel I type for example #JasonAlexander but il all gets transformed to jasonalexander.
