Hercules' fountain is located on the Stari trg in Ljubljana , in the extended part in front of the Stiški dvorec .
Kumersteiner's larger baroque fountain already stood on this square in the 17th century . It had a four-sided pool and a statue of a hero in the center. At the end of the 18th century, it was demolished due to the discontinuation of the water supply from Golovec. l
