devinprater,

Oh hey, Braille Sense 6 is running Android >8, so it'll work with the um... LDAC? A2DP? Whatever Sony's Bluetooth audio codec is. Mmm, much less latency than AAC too.

@devinprater i know nothing about this bluetooth codec... tell me more LOL

devinprater,

@jstark It's uh, like, Sony's own little codec. It's on Android, and I guess it somewhat works on Windows and maybe Mac, but not on iOS. It improves latency a bit over AAC too.

munchkinbear,

@devinprater the braille sense 6 came out of the gate running 10. v2 came out with 12, their's talk of the .5 release mid year upgrading us to either 14 or if 15's out to 15.

devinprater,

@munchkinbear Yep, I got the update. I was saying it had >8, 8 or later.

dhamlinmusic,

@munchkinbear @devinprater Yep, and meanwhile the BrailleNote Plus or whatever is literally just dead because they never updated it once and, its android version is too old to allow it to connect to any google product/service.

@dhamlinmusic @munchkinbear @devinprater The Braillenote Apex really was the peak of Humanware

devinprater,
Tamasg,

@devinprater In developer options on my XM5 I could change to LDAC on the sense even with Android 10, hoping the Android 12 update improves Bluetooth a bit but it would switch to that codec successfully for me.

devinprater,

@Tamasg Yeah, it switched to it even without me doing anything. On the Samsung phone, I had to switch to it in Bluetooth > device settings.
