I felt super similarly - the game ran surprisingly smoothly all the way through the demo, and while it was absolutely heavily inspired by Bloodborne and its ilk, it's just different enough to feel like a whole new world to explore while still feeling familiar. Very interested to learn more about the world they've crafted, and fantastical reimaginings of classic tales are a subgenre I always enjoy.

I found myself actually enjoying the sharpness mechanic, despite durability in general normally being a pretty big negative in most games for me. Weapons weren't fragile enough for it to be a problem, but there's a certain exhilaration in finding the right windows during fights to heal and finding windows to sharpen tickled the same parts of my mind. That being said, there's no functional difference between a weapon a full sharpness and just-before-breaking that I noticed, so sharpening might just become a post-fight maintenance mechanic that could detract from the experience; it'll depend on how the full game handles the mechanic.

I thought parrying had good feedback and utility against normal enemies and honestly felt like the intended way to handle many boss attacks, given the unreliability of the starting dodge. I'd love to see the base, pre-upgrade dodge tweaked a bit to feel more immediate/responsive and more viable but it really does seem like the team intends for parrying to be the go-to defensive move similar to Sekiro.

All in all I had a great time with the demo and am actively looking forward to the full release. Any qualms I had are things I can get past or accept as part of the intended vision.
