When the Enterprise tracks down a rogue band of Space Hippies, Star Trek gets baked out of its mind and takes a big swing at the counterculture movements of the 1960’s. Why haven’t we eaten the rich yet? Is the grass greener on the other religion? Do you reach, Herbert?

@humanisttrek My theory: every Star Trek series has one episode that dials the cringe to maximum, and for TOS, it's this one. Can't wait to hear your review.

@eribosot I’m listening back for the 3rd time and I’m starting to wish I had talked more about the human desire / right to self determination.

@eribosot I should add, this is pretty common as I listen back each week and think of all the things I wish I had said 😂

@humanisttrek Loved your takes! I think Dr Sevrin was supposed to be the charismatic cult leader who leads his flock into certain death. Quite prescient, considering this was long before Jonestown and Heaven's Gate.
