Utah's runoff flood risk is all but over. What happens to all the sandbags now?

Utah's record snowpack led to the distribution of over 2 million sandbags to prevent flooding similar to that in 1983. However, the snowmelt process went smoothly, avoiding significant flooding.

Local governments are now allowing residents to keep the sandbags for personal use or providing drop-off locations. Dumping sandbags into bodies of water or trash bins is discouraged.
