I do a plank every evening before bed just because I can. My current record is 6 minutes, and it’s kinda fun.

I will still finish people’s sentences for them so I don’t have to wait for them to remember a word.

Smoogs,

Or read an instruction that has an imbalance of the explanation of ‘why we do this’ Vs ‘how we do this’

If I’m on your page I don’t need the idea sold to me. Get to the friggin point of how to do it already.

Zo0,

‘Understood’ lmao

SARGEx117,

How it feels as an adhd person trying to talk to an adhd person who keeps interrupting with what they THINK is the rest of the sentence, but they keep getting it wrong.

It can become quite a cycle when two people are trying to do the same thing.

Oof. The flip side: I have a friend with adhd and we can basically do full duplex conversation (both talking and receiving at the same time). It’s pretty wild.

SARGEx117,

It’s great when it lines up! Other times, not so much.

I can have a conversation with my wife, the shell say something relating to a conversation we had 3 weeks ago while half asleep and I can still understand what she’s saying.

Sometimes.

Other times it’s basically like she just randomly says something like “Albuquerque” or “snorkel” if I were to be talking about space, and to her it makes perfect sense. But I’m lost.

eltimablo,

I have a friend who does this constantly and it's not as charming as this c is making it out to be. The amount of strain it puts on relationships when you're never able to verbalize a complete thought is immense.

SARGEx117,

Indeed. Not to sound too flippant about it, try having that person be your spouse.

The amount of hand-holding I do daily to get complete thoughts out some days…

alternatively, it’s infuriating speaking to someone like this who interupts constantly and does not let an idea get developed.

Totally. Also now that I understand I have ADHD and understand how it manifests, I know I am annoying. And I try to avoid this and dozens of other off-putting behaviors.

Maybe that’s why I find interacting with strangers so exhausting lol.

genfood,

I mean I get your point, but remember it is not that they doing it on purpose.

jackoneill,

Yeah but while you are trying to fill in the gaps so you can get out of the conversation easier you are literally getting everything wrong and making the conversation take longer and be more confusing than if you had just taken 30 damn seconds to actually listen

Source : my wife does this daily

Sounds like something that would be worthy of being called a disorder.

genfood,

I guess it is hard to learn the right behaviour.

eltimablo,

That doesn't make it any less debilitating to be on the receiving end of it for someone who also has ADHD. And for those who don't know what's going on, it smacks of extreme arrogance.

davepleasebehave,

that’s fine. but often the start of the idea is just leading the actual point. so if you interior you have not actually heard the point that the other person wants to make. and the conversation has been totally detailed. and it just continues to go on like that.

I’ve got PTSD from these types of discussions.
