Orbituary, in Animating the Netflix Logo in Jetpack Compose - Part 1
@Orbituary@lemmy.world avatar

I don’t understand why people do what seems to be unpaid work for corporations. Animate something else; this is just an exercise after all.

pro_grammer, (edited )

Because animating something that people already know might increase the chances of people clicking his article.

And in the end, people can animate and program whatever they want.

testeronious, (edited ) in List of OAUTH Supported Platforms

I never developed anything for mastodon, but I searched “mastodon developer docs” and found a link for API specifications docs.joinmastodon.org/api/

There’s a section for OAuth in there, hope this helps you.

UPDATE: It doesn’t seem to need an API key, since the website never mentions it. Here’s another doc to get started with their API: docs.joinmastodon.org/client/intro/

jadero, in List of OAUTH Supported Platforms

I think you mean “OAUTH” not “OATH”. That might make your search for information easier.

Sorry, I don’t know much about OAUTH and even less about Mastodon.

I never knew that thing exist, everyday I just used KDE Connect + GUIScrcpy to connect my phone
Or AirDroid if you hate complicated setup

This was quite literally the only feature of win11 that I was interested in.

samus7070, in Windows 11 to Drop Android App Support in March 2025

Recently I made an app using Flutter that I tried to distribute over the Windows Store. I was unable to get past the company verification process despite having whatever I needed. Their backend management site is pretty bad. Eventually I got stuck in some loop where the page would just keep refreshing endlessly. The tax form site which is separate wraps another site in an iframe. I decided to set it aside for a while because the app is also in the Amazon store. If I can conjure up the energy I’ll fight that beast again.

henfredemars, in Windows 11 to Drop Android App Support in March 2025

I feel like they just started supporting Android apps.

Well that sucks. Removing features is never good. I use it for a couple phone-only systems.

SmartmanApps, in Intermittent MAUI Android issue - "The paging file is too small for this operation to complete (DOS error/errno=1455)"
@SmartmanApps@programming.dev avatar

I’ve just had this happen again, and the Android emulator failed to start in the first place. I looked at my RAM usage, and it was at 83%. That includes my RAMdisk (which was at 20% usage itself). I tried to run the app again (without a reboot, which has fixed it in the past), and it happened again, but my RAM usage never went up, so it definitely never hit 100% (which I knew already from the logs, but now confirmed with Task Manager). Still no idea why this is happenning.

P.S. why on Earth are some of you downvoting this? This is a legit MAUI issue which only happens when I try to run the app on my Android emulator on a Windows device, and I’m trying to find a solution.

I’m building up quite a collection of these, so it’s far from being a once-off issue. In other words, I’m still looking for any ideas on how to fix this https://programming.dev/pictrs/image/b4239d4e-70cc-487b-8635-bb8ed9420aa3.png

Tramort, in So Long, and Thanks for All the Bytes

He describes the photo in his security badge as a smirk. Is it really a smirk? English is not my native language so I would love a native speaker to give an opinion.

jadero,

One of my dictionaries says a smirk is “To smile in a way that is affected, smug, insolent or contemptuous.”

A smile typically suggests amusement, and I see nothing in that expression suggestive of amusement. I would call it something more like “displeasure at finding myself having to once again clean up someone else’s mess.” So maybe not actual disgust, but something related.

Tramort,

Thank you for that. I was really confused.

Is there any input people can give? Also, where’s the petition?

To prompt users running an outdated or broken version of your app to update to the latest available compatible version.

  • Your app must be enrolled in Play App Signing.
  • Your app must be published using the Android App Bundle.
LodeMike, (edited )

Eh it’s kind of nessecairy. An In-app solution would be fine if notifs weren’t needed.

The issue is that only google has a notification server.
