ano_ba_to,

Other humans can injure or kill you on the road by accident. A software with a known, repeatable bug that can kill you and is not being fixed is intentionally murdering/injuring people. They need to be as hated as drunk drivers.

I’m shocked… Well, not that shocked… Who am I kidding, we all saw this coming.

chunkystyles,

The autopilot didn’t.

ZoopZeZoop,

Raise your hand if you’re surprised.

I’m surprised at the amount of “testing in production” that regulators tasked with keeping the population at large safe will allow.

Bizarre! I would expect at least a dedicated oversight team of the regulator, billed to the company that wants to run experimental tech in the wild, that signs off on test and monitoring protocols, and oversees any issues, mitigation and remediation.

sin_free_for_00_days,

Too many regulation departments are so understaffed and underfunded that they rely on “self-reporting” on many issues. It is just bonkers, but that’s what happens when you prioritize the dollar while also whinging about gov’t spending.
