Friday I reported someone for sexually inappropriate comments made to me at work along with racial baiting. Saying I let my puppies out sent me over the edge. (My boss confirmed my shirt was work appropriate, also confirmed she has been racially baited target but she did NOT want to support me on that to HR which further pisses me off.). I’ve tolerated it for over a year because I’m not perfect either, but I guess I found my line. Tomorrow shit is going to get real at work, more talk with HR. It’s consumed my thinking the past weekend, I didn’t get enough sleep last night causing further malfunction. Hoping for a full decent night tonight. 🤞
Holy shit, that’s big! What a completely inappropriate comment at work, wow. I really hope this works out the way it should - in your favor. I’ve dealt with too much corporate bullshit to know that it doesn’t always go that way. I also hope you were able to get your sleep!
I’m so proud of myself right now. I looked back at the year, and even though there were major ups and downs, I stayed true to myself and my goals. I made new friends, and I became more mature emotionally. I hope to continue that trajectory in 2024!
I also started to be open - really open - about my diagnosis. I can afford to do that because I own my business and don’t have the threat of someone firing me or making a work environment toxic because I have a mental illness. So I try my best to spread awareness and open up. occasionally, I’ll get “You have bipolar? No way!” and then I have an opportunity to address their misconceptions about why someone who looks like me cannot possibly have bipolar. It’s been fun.
