I don't read a lot of physical books anymore. Ebooks and audiobooks are just more convenient for me. But sometimes I'll make an exception, and if anyone deserves one, it's Raymond Chandler. Dude could write... truly a master of wordcraft. His plot lines could be a bit vague at times but his powers of description were superb. Just by describing a guy's tie and how he wore it told you everything you needed to know about that particular character...
@every@dbsalk@bookstodon I have never ever forgot the description of the “black wool socks with dark blue clocks on them”. The Big Sleep is a masterpiece, but they are all great.
