I don't read a lot of physical books anymore. Ebooks and audiobooks are just more convenient for me. But sometimes I'll make an exception, and if anyone deserves one, it's Raymond Chandler. Dude could write... truly a master of wordcraft. The Big Sleep has so much in it to savor and enjoy, and I'm loving the "hardboiled detective" vibe. #AmReading #FridayReads #Bpoks #Bookstodon #Breakfast #Tacos @bookstodon

@dbsalk @bookstodon I love this one, almost opened it again tonight, too! Maybe this weekend…

@timrichards @bookstodon I love audiobooks! A good audiobook narrator (or narrators) can really elevate the experience. I hope whoever narrates The Big Sleep does it justice and that you enjoy it.

His plot lines could be a bit vague at times but his powers of description were superb. Just by describing a guy's tie and how he wore it told you everything you needed to know about that particular character...

@every @bookstodon Yes, this exactly.

jnyrose,

@every @dbsalk @bookstodon I have never ever forgot the description of the “black wool socks with dark blue clocks on them”. The Big Sleep is a masterpiece, but they are all great.
