gregorum,

The drop from a second-story balcony is unlikely to produce injuries beyond a bruise anyway.

VelvetStorm,

Ok, go and jump out of a second story window on to hard concrete and get back to us.

gregorum,

I have on, a few occasions. Once, I twisted my ankle.

rickyrigatoni,

Are you okay?

gregorum,

Are you?

rickyrigatoni,

Do I wear you out?

gregorum,

Are you ok?

rickyrigatoni,

I’m okay now (trust me)

ashok36,

Second story is easily handled by someone in good physical shape but it’s super easy to fuck it up and break a bone or twist something.

That said, my 35 year old uncle literally lost his balance standing on flat ground, hit his head, and died within a couple minutes. Just like drowning in six inches of water, a fall from any height can be fatal if you fuck it up badly enough.

nilloc,

Just like drowning in six inches of water, a fall from any height can be fatal if you fuck it up badly enough.

Or, you know, if you don’t have control of all the variables in a situation.

VelvetStorm,

Which is typically what happens when someone falls.

Technus,

What if the device worked properly but Rodney was just subconsciously deathly afraid of being poisoned or exposed to an allergen or contracting a foodborne illness that the device was like “fuck it, you’re just not eating anything then”?

Technus,

The device deactivated the moment they suggested sending Rodney into a dangerous situation with it so it was definitely just Rodney being more afraid of dying to literally anything else than starving to death.
