I’m glad he took a moment to specify the difference between pessimism and doomism.
I readily admit that I’m a quiet pessimist… but I also hope I’m wrong, and I still think we should do everything possible to combat climate change.

DigitalTraveler42, My conservative father brought up something akin to climate change, so I raised one eyebrow and hit him with my best Jon Stewart “do go on…”, then he immediately switched gears to how it’s climate cycles and blah blah blah, I just laughed and changed the subject so he couldn’t bog me down into a political argument on my birthday.

- "climate change isn’t real"
- to "ok sure climate change is real but it’s not caused by humans"
- and then next is "ok fine it was us but it’s too late to prevent it anyway"
- followed by fiery death

They’ll discover immortality and be like, “come on guys, we only have one planet.”

They went from denying to shifting the blame and responsibility to the consumer to now sayin “well its too late, oh well, better luck next time chap”
