Hatchet,

I just did my first competition with my new partner last month, and we actually did quite well!

The federation that we currently dance in has four amateur levels, ABCD (A = high), and we competed in levels C and D, placing first in both. I thought that was pretty good, since we had only been dancing together for about two and a half, maybe 3 months at that point.

Currently, we are going back through our routines and polishing up some technique. In particular, I think our foxtrot is probably our weakest. When we first started dancing together, I felt that we were definitely weakest in tango, and she thought we were weak in waltz, but we drilled both of those pretty hard, so now foxtrot is the one lagging behind.

Currently working on a new quickstep routine, so it's obviously not up to snuff yet.
