sleepybisexual,

You mean an FPGA? Not many options exist

There’s loads of options. From Anbernic to Powkiddy

And there’s also older models and types for sale. Check out Retro Game Corps on YouTube for honest reviews, costum firmware and information on these devices.

There’s also !sbcgaming but like many niche communities it’s not very active. But I’m sure you can get answers for any question you post there.

Edit: there’s also options to buy a pre-built retropi or make your own using a 3d printer and a raspberrypi or similar, and costum pcbs. But I’m not sure if that’s what you’re looking for.

sleepybisexual,

Just gonna add a lil something to this. Powkiddy are OK for low end but if your spending more than 100 euro get an ambernic or a cheapisj retroid

You’d need an FPGA(s) and the knowledge of the chip set.

I think there’s actually something like this specifically for gameboys

Edit: found it www.analogue.co/pocket

I was figuring id be able to assemble essentially a very small and minimum spec pc in the shape of a gameboy that could run an emulator through linux or windows. The link you provided will more than suffice though, thank you.

HakFoo,

You might also like the ODROID-GO devices. They’re a little more “real computers” than the “emulation consoles” you can find on AliExpress.

All I know about hardware emulation is FPGAs but it sounds neat.
