Mapping Folklore

Many legends and folk tales can be linked to specific real world locations. Here are my modest efforts at mapping the location of German folk tales, and I have included a few similar maps I am aware of in a links list.

Looks like the people in my area (west Brandenburg) don't have an imagination, which doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

If you want to read some folk tales from your region, you can check the links list under the "Mark Brandenburg" section of this Wikisource page..

I can also recommend Gisela Griepentrog's "Havelsagen", which is fairly comprehensive.

It's probably more accurate to say that I have not gotten around to those yet.

There are tens of thousands of German folk tales, and I am only putting those into the map which I have managed to translate into English.
