Moments ago I finished this modern take on possession horror and, my goodness, what a film! It’s one of those horror pieces that’ll linger with you long after the credits roll. Very unsettling and depressing.
I also learned post viewing that it was banned in Kuwait for starring transgender actor Zoe Terakes. How asinine. As humanity makes advancements the opposite end of the spectrum drags their knuckles even deeper into the ground.
I enjoyed it a lot… but I actually feel like 60% of the movie felt either dragging or unnecessary filler. It kept making things seem more spooky… but a lot of it felt unnecessary. I rated it 6/10, still good, slow burn, ends solid.
This was surprisingly good. The first 15 minutes dragged a bit and I just wasn’t into it. Then something turned and I was hooked. It was dark and terrifying. I don’t get scared much with horror anymore, but this one got me.
