This looks more like 16 bit.

Thade780,

8 bits, I’d say.

I think that might be too many colors for 8-bits. I count 17

Thade780,

Do you know that most 8bit computers/consoles/arcades could have a bigger palette, right?

As an example, the NES had a 6 bits color palette for 60 total colors, the Amstrad CPC had 27 colors, and so on.

You can read more here: en.wikipedia.org/…/List_of_8-bit_computer_hardwar…

Obv. Not. I thought they could only do 16 at a time.

Thade780,

No worries, hope you find the article interesting. 😊

Oh my god yes!

I actually know where this picture came from:

It came from my childhood. We had a 386 “laser” computer from microcenter and this was part of a demonstration of what awesome graphics it has IIRC

This is made from 3 individual generations done via Stable Diffusion & ComfyUI. Layered, set them all to the same palette, and added a parallax scroll effect in Aseprite.

I spent some time fiddling around making a node setup that creates some pretty decent looking pixel art.

Huckledebuck,

Very cool!
