Russia has been involved with propaganda aimed at the West since before the Second World War.
Unfortunately they're very good at it, and when the Internet was created, then the World Wide Web, and especially Social Media, that's when things for them really took off.
And now the Chinese have replicated the Soviets success and jumped on board too.
