Im thinking that we’re due for some Prime 4 anything. Its really funny that the game Nintendo used to promote the Switch is still not ready, and yet the next console is just around the corner by now lol.
Considering the rumours about the switch 2 hardware I think MP4 will be a next gen launch title, maybe not even cross gen. It would suck if it’s not on the switch but at the same time it could be a truly gigantic game in every aspect
I don’t mind a Samus that talks and has personality, but other M was hot garbage. You have to get her personality right, and it’s not like there is only one single right way to portray her, but feeling the mommy feels just is not it.
A woman who has had a whole lifetime of decisions and knows who she is does not look longingly at a distress beacon triggered by it being called a baby’s cry.
Like… No. No. She also doesn’t just refuse to use weapons when they’re needed because she’s told not to.
If she gets a personality it just needs to be better than that.
The idea of a Metroid 6 is very intriguing to me, since it would apparently mean a whole new story arc, with the Metroids and the X both extinct. Wonder what that would look like.
I’m old, so I like the silent Samus à la the originals. I like the creepy beeping music and the vacuum of space kind of vibe, devoid of any interpersonal relationship melodrama
I’m in my 30s and played my first Metroid game when I was 11. That was when Prime came out out on the GameCube. Everyone knew it was something special just from the demo at Walmart. I rented the game and got hooked. Bought it shortly after. From there I downloaded a GBA emulator to play the Gameboy games. Then bought every Metroid Title to date.
My favorite 2D Metroid is probably the NES original followed by it’s successor Metroid 2.
My favorite 3D title is Echos and it’s not even close. Probably my favorite video game of all time.
Soon I hope. Prime 2, in my opinion, is the best looking gamecube game ever. I remember not thinking ps3 and 360 were impressive because they didn’t really look better than prime 2 did. So seeing prime 2 remastered would probably blow my mind.
I’m sure MP2 will have regular controls, but I’m not sure what they’ll do for MP3. MP3 has a reliance on cursor aiming and motion controls, so I wonder if they’ll have to make changes to the game itself to make it feel good with regular controls.
With Nintendo deliberately sitting on MP1R for so long (it was finished before Dread), I can see these other two ports not coming out until next year, and considering they are not as popular as the first one, Id hope they will do some kind of promotion to ensure they sell well too, like they are doing with the Pikmin games.
I have over 200 hours in Dread. And I’m freaking stuck at the final boss on run time for hard mode that I want. But it’s been so long now I have no idea how to control Samus anymore.
Super is really my most played. Played it when it first came out, and replay it probably once every year or so. Randomizers and hacks are awesome too.
I hope they expand on the exploration a lot. Dread is great, but it’s missing something. They did improve on Samus Returns with Dread, so I’m sure they’ll continue to improve with the next one.
Who knows, maybe thier third Metroid game could dethrone Nintendos third Metroid game?
