Open to feedback on any aspect, from the conception and composition to the mixing and mastering. Honest opinions sought, you don't even have to be nice (though it's always appreciated 😅 ).
@etherdiver Frankly, I think you are approaching this moment incorrectly. Were I to opine about your conception or composition, is that me giving you something useful or not understanding what you were going for. Had an IRL person tell me I don’t know how to record guitars. But his sample size was one, and he was really saying he didn’t like my choice.
@etherdiver Look forward. Assess what you would change for the last album if you could and keep that in mind this one.
Find some good people to bounce the new ideas off. Be clear about intentions and function. (For example, some tracks are accessible and some are for textural variety.)
But, don’t be surprised at inconsistent external notes or think every opinion is gold. At the end of the day, it’s your job to say this goes out. Keep moving, learning, applying, and improvising.
@pomCountyIrregs thanks for the thoughts. I definitely do not judge/weight all opinions the same, and seeking opinions via social media is merely one aspect of my reflection process.
It's as much an opportunity to interact with people who listen as it is anything else. It's quite interesting the things people perceive in your music! Sometimes useless but entertaining; other times surprising and insightful.
