If it were up to my opinion. the short answer is yes. if the topics/genres that I were interested in, i.e. I searched for, I clicked, gets recommended more....

I have a instance, with one person, which is I alone. I also don’t follow any instances. Thought it might be a good idea to ask people who they follow for a suggestion.

We have to get sepiasearch to list all instances this will also bring new content to Newpipe as they use sepiasearch for video search!

When I use peertube, I interact in limited ways. I dont like, I dont subscribe. And Im not commenting. I usually only watch. I also find it slightly inaccessible....

In 2018, a platform was launched to build an open, decentralized web for videos. In 2021, the network is still struggling to grow. I take a look into some of the problems with content discovery, along with some small suggestions for instance admins.

In a recent announcement also published on Lemmy Gabe Kangas told about Owncast’s roadmap with regards to adding federation features. These include interoperability with PeerTube....

When browsing peertube, every other video is in other languages than english....

So, I was fully aware that might happen, but the fact only bitcoin and conspiracy stuff ended up in my trending list made me a bit sad. It was my intention anyway to remove everything again and then add more curated instances. (TBH, I would have expected more outright porn instead of “Free energy” and “Face masks harm you...

I made this as a guide to get started in 2020/2021.

I hope you enjoy this, formatting everything manually was a pain in the ass....
