This quote from Mikkel Honoré about his attack with Tadej Pogacar and Geraint Thomas at the end of stage 3, and the sound you never want to hear when climbing with Pogacar:
“I did a long attack and was on the limit obviously, G passed first and then Tadej and you hear ‘klack klack’ - two gears up - then it was just a super hard acceleration and hard to follow.”
Ha, if they did, it would only make me feel more inferior! 😅
I do remember that during the 2021, Tour the camera bikes showed Pogacar climbing in the big gear when he smashed everyone on the Colombière and took the yellow jersey. I don’t know if any of the other riders noticed, but that must be demoralizing!

Off topic, but can the mods make a rule about no result spoilers in the post title? It hasnt happened for giro yet, but i saw a lot of WWT results spoliers
I was responsible for half of those WWT spoilers, but I support a no spoiler rule too and will avoid it going forward. It’s tough with the photos automatically grabbing from the website usually showing the winner posting up, but we can probably get around that.
I’d be happy to chat giro. I really don’t know too much and there isn’t a nice long highlights package everyday where I am. I’m making do with Eurosport mini highlights
Doesn’t really look like there’s any competition for Pogi in this with no Remco, Primoz, Jonas. Can’t see G mounting a serious challenge although it would be great!
Man, I really like G as a person and a rider, but it already seems obvious that he’s not going to be able to challenge Pogi, no one in this race can. It already feels like GC is over, and it takes half the fun out of watching. That is one thing I really liked about the Vuelta Feminina, it stayed in contention the whole time and there were attacks/moves by other teams that could have upset GC.
Not sure we have any active mods anymore - don’t know what that means re. moderation, but there’s hardly enough activity to make it a problem right now.
Likewise, I didn’t think spoilers were much of an issue given the lack of activity, but I’ll try to remember not to spoil anything :D
