What is your favorite space game?
Kerbal Space Program is one of my favorite games!
Kerbal Space Program is one of my favorite games!
Bluu, Outer Wilds! It's the game I suggest to anyone who enjoys exploration and puzzles. The story unravels slowly as you piece together clues. The solar system is so fun, with each planet having unique mechanics. One of my absolute favorites!
srai, Outer Wilds is a really great game! I have some minor grudges with smaller parts of the story and world but it's an overall awesome experience that doesn't take itself to seriously.
TheTeaMonster, Game's literally been in my backlog for so long now, I think I'll finally give it some time now after reading this.
Bluu, It’s so good! My suggestion is to try and avoid looking anything up or reading too much about the game beforehand. The magic is really in exploring and discovering things as you go. Beautiful game :)
Icebein, Kerbal Space Program is what got me into orbital dynamics and the math behind it, Astroneer just for the fun and the asthetics of it.
dbtonez, i really dig Everspace. i haven’t played 2 yet but the arcadey flight mechanics of the first really grabbed me.
bing_crosby, Starsector. Been described as "Mount & Blade in space", which I think is still pretty apt. Made mostly by one guy, been in development for years. Still getting regular, substantive updates, has an awesome modding community with full developer support that adds tons of great content to the base game. Can't recommend it enough.
tttrrriiisss, Freelancer. The answer is freelancer.
cowmakesmilk, Gotta be freelancer for me. No other space game since has taken a hold of me like that game did.
Lenguador, Probably not exactly what you're looking for, but I have fond memories of StarFox on the Nintendo 64. It feels a lot like an arcade game, best played with a controller, but you can play it online here and elsewhere. I had a shot, but even changing the keybindings it's quite hard to play with a keyboard.
gibandaley, Descent: Freespace and it's sequel are all time favorites
s804, i LOVED Descent 2
geoffervescent, Outer Wilds is the most unique space mystery game with rogue-like elements I've ever played (not to be confused with The Outer Worlds). I feel that describing the premise takes away from some of magic of learning the game, but if you like the exploration elements of games like KSP and the puzzle elements of Portal or Stanley Parable I highly recommend giving it a go.
s804, oh wow i didnt know it was THAT good, excited to play it one day!
FoxyWaffles42, I just started Deep Rock Galactic and it's been a great time sink so far
s804, oh i have this game but never tried it, thanks for the info!
jules_451, Star Citizen, while buggy, is a great space game that keeps getting better.
s804, i have seen documentaries about this game hahaha
wave_walnut, Space Engineers, definitely!
I've spent thousands of hours on it.
s804, i have never heard of this, sounds interesting!
Nachoman_Randy_Sandwich, Love No Mans Sky
Pisodeuorrior, I tried really hard to like it, but it feels way too arcade-y for me.
Xperr7, Started playing after the Pathfinder update, and pretty much played non-stop for the next few days.
Trying to convince my friends to play now lol.
s804, really excited to play it one day, had so much potential when it came out
owl_mage, I've always loved Starbound and how chill it could be. The music is wonderful.
s804, starbound is one of my favorite games, i just wish the village parts weren't as repetitive but i love the station, it has so much variety
ripcord, Definitely not something anyone else will mention, and shows my age, but Star Control 2.
s804, i have never heard of it, but it sounds like a game from the 90s haha
