Yeah, it's unfortunate that all the reporting I've seen so far has failed to capture all the nuance involved. Unfortunate, but not surprising, I suppose.
I'd certainly agree that this is at least Huffman's internal thoughts about the whole thing at this point. Stabilize their large, more easily monetizable userbase, and get to the IPO asap. The only ones who "suffer" here are the users who give a shit, and the only remedy is to move on from reddit and create that content that matters, elsewhere.
The mods there have decided to allow underage looking content, skirting close to CP. Unless we want such disgusting stuff on our feed, I think we should defederate from that instance....
Starsector. Been described as "Mount & Blade in space", which I think is still pretty apt. Made mostly by one guy, been in development for years. Still getting regular, substantive updates, has an awesome modding community with full developer support that adds tons of great content to the base game. Can't recommend it enough.
I'm pretty excited for this game. I don't have a PS5 yet, maybe this Christmas. But if you do, what better way to spend time in the world of Final Fantasy when it feels like the rest of the internet in down.

Very curious to see if they mention anything about Redfall fixes/updates. On the one hand, it would be nice to see some genuine effort towards improving a blatantly subpar product. On the other, I could see them not wanting to sour the show by spending time on a widely-derided release that has already kind of been forgotten.
