Merfolk get a new Magus of the Moon!
MysticKetchup, Seems really good with Merfolk since you’ll be able to pump it + turn on Islandwalk with lords
Vej, That double pip of blue hurts it a lot as you can’t drop basic and a sol land like the dragon stompy/initiative stompy decks tend to do

Yeah probably by design to keep that play pattern out of the older formats 😕
Cruxifux, Damn man what a card
Pistcow, Izzet mana fixing with blood moon?
morphballganon, Wouldn’t one of them overwrite the other? Whichever came out last applies?
nxdefiant, Hmm.
Play this: Nonbasic lands are islands -> Only basic lands are in play now.
Now play bloodmoon: Nonbasic lands are mountains -> doesn’t affect anything because there are zero non-basic lands in play.
follow up question: what happens when a new non-basic land enters play?
altec, They don’t gain the Basic super type, they just lose their subtypes and become Islands instead. So they’re still non-basics, so I believe timestamps would apply
TehPers, Timestamps do apply. This is why Dryad of the Illysian Grove overwrites Blood Moon’s ability if it comes out afterwards (but not before).
