Yep, sometimes you just can’t without emergency dice. It’s just no dice

mihnt, (edited ) in Emergency Dice

I have a whole thing of D6s that are this small. Though, not metal, they aren’t bad and are great for counters in a lot of games. I can say however that the amount of them I have now is less than when I first bought them all.

Yes, I’m sure that “shrinkage” will be an issue. I’m seeing if I can find the tiny dice standalone so I can have replacements.

And, I found the tiny dice standalone. About two bucks a set. I’m now going to go nuts making things that have little RPG dice in them. 😀

✅ I am in this picture and don’t like it. 🤣

They’re beautiful 0.0

You’ve solved the old conundrum of how not to injure yourself by stepping on pointy dice. Those dice are to expensive to ever end up on the floor in the first place😁 I want no information what so ever on how to source those, as that would be detrimental to my financial status.

Chanced upon this community and saw most of the posts were from one person (kudos!) - thought I'd share my dice from the recent Ember Forge kickstarter. These are their Yggdrasil (top) and Atlantean (bottom) dice.

What originally drew them to me were the Atlantean dice, with runes that really reminded me of High Speech in Mage the Awakening. While I originally just wanted to get a set of Atlantean D10s, I just kept thinking "what's a little bit more" and eventually sprung for both sets.

They roll nicely but I haven't had as much occasion to use them yet as I'd like :) They join all my other sets of Kickstarter dice that are too cool to casually bring around.

Even while not in tabletop rpg anymore, this look makes my pocket itching.

Don’t blame yourself for this, you had no chance.

It’s true. You definitely do not.

Those are pretty cool, though.

@troyunrau@lemmy.ca avatar

Do they make them themselves? Or are they buying bags and just putting them on display?

ada,
@ada@lemmy.blahaj.zone avatar

Both. Some were 3d printed, some were ordered in

It's great you can get fresh, organic dice.

Dope.

JackGreenEarth, in From the Tang Dynasty, I present the D18.

Are they real, or 3d printed?

ZDL,
@ZDL@ttrpg.network avatar

Cast metal core with electroplating by the looks of it.

Xatix, in From the Tang Dynasty, I present the D18.

The triangles shoild be slighlty rounded to avoid the dice falling on them. Then it would be perfect.

ZDL,
@ZDL@ttrpg.network avatar

Then it wouldn’t be from the Tang Dynasty now, would it?

Grass,

I’d split them half each for good and bad crits

burble,

It looks like that’s what new D18s do

Some of those D18s are this style with the roundings, but some of them look… weirdly different.

None of them, however, have that historic feel. 😉

myrrh, (edited ) in The heaviest dice I own (for the moment)

…i have difficulty getting good rolls out of heavy metal dice: they kind of plop down with a thud and just. STOP.

…that and they’re terribly hard on whatever rolling surface i use; towers seem to be the only way to get a reasonably random roll from them and those grow beaten-up by heavy metal dice in pretty short order…

…i wonder if the more-rounded edges roll any better?..i have one hydro74 licensed set similar to those pictured here; i should compare them to my sharper-edged ultrapro heavy metal dice…

ZDL,
@ZDL@ttrpg.network avatar

I didn’t try them in a tower yet, but they roll OK in a padded dice tray I have. Something that has a bit of a grip on the surface (pseudo-leather in my case).

On a flat desktop or other hard surface they don’t roll worth a damn. They slide. 🤣
