I’d heard from my colleagues Vancouver was about to be walloped with some snow. Ironically over here in Montreal we’re in the midst of unseasonably warm weather right now.
I didn’t get a chance to see much of downtown. I did explore Gastown a bit, and took a walk through Chinatown.
And in spite of everyone telling me not to go anywhere near West Hastings Street I accidentally ended up there late at night and it was everything I’d been warned about.
Either way, I’m not sure I got a full impression of what downtown Vancouver was like, but the views from the waterfront are incredible.
Weather was mostly rainy, but it’s very different to what I’m used to in London. More moody mists and fogs which I loved and more daylight seems to get through the clouds, so from my limited experience the weather wasn’t as depressing as England’s and dare I say even compliments the look of the city.
And speaking of which, I’m a big fan of Vancouver’s dense transit orientated developments. A few of these thrown around Montreal’s depressing suburbs would be game changing.
