(Former Moonlander user too, just adapted my layout to the 52-key, with a heavy use of combos).

Your left hand/right hand layer split sounds good. I'll try that, too. Also, the word movement & selection shortcuts!

@ctietze Combos are really useful when you find yourself short of keys. I re-discovered them with this board.

@christophe Need to wrap my head around these, but also need lighter key switches, I believe ;)

At ~50gsm or whatever the linears are, pressing 2 keys at once -- I'm not strong enough for that!!

But it's super interesting to see what you did with your layout so far. Need to experiment more.

@gustavneustadt I ordered the legend-less versions right away. From my Moonlander I knew I'd be disappointed by weird customizations not matching the key legends. :)

And as you can see on that keyboard, I gave up looking for keycaps with an MT3 profile and RGB compatibility.

What do you plan to get if you had infinite budget?

I consider replacing the Kailh Choc Reds with Pale Blues (50gsm→20gsm) and then try chording neighboring keys, actually

@ctietze Oh I see, you are talking about the voyager. I only have the Moonlander and I’m quite satisfied with it, except the ugly arial caps. And it definitely reduced my hand strain coming from an apple one. 👌
But nevertheless I was not able to find good replacement caps that are not as expensive as the keyboard itself. But yeah, if budget doesn’t matter there are some, I‘m sure. But even then you have to wait atleast half a year.

I can wholly recommend joining local (national) keyboard enthusiast groups. Found a German keyboard Discord and got the keycaps I wanted for ~70% the retail price, unused, without shipping. Then there's the (global) Reddit mechkb marketplace.

And I eventually spent time lubing Kailh Box Pink switches 😅

@ctietze since I’m not as deep into keyboards and caps, I’m not sure if the caps bug me enough to spent effort into research. I use the moonlander for like 2 years now and back then when it arrived it bugged me a lot that they used arial on the caps – besides that, the caps are nice imo. So I looked into the whole »group-buy« thing with GMK(?) caps … but was not really sure about it – since it kinda felt a bit like a scam. So I did not followed the rabbit further down the hole ;-)
