It’s wild to me that it’s 2023 and we have known the danger of lead for like thousands of years (like BC), and still have places using lead pipes for drinking water because we somehow prioritize $ for everything else except the replacing of pipes that should never have been used in the first place.
Julius Caesar’s engineer, Vitruvius, reported, “water is much more wholesome from earthenware pipes than from lead pipes. For it seems to be made injurious by lead, because white lead is produced by it, and this is said to be harmful to the human body.”
