The Cub Leader got the 4 Sixers to read a line or so each of my chosen variation of The Scout Promise, which I repeated back whilst doing the Scout Sign. And then I shook hands with the Cub Leader.
Very special.
And so I’m an Assistant Cub Scout Leader proper now. 😊
(One of the most outgoing Cubs came over to congratulate me. They are going to be quite the Sixer when it’s their turn. 😀 )
Just back from my (Assistant Cub) Scout training meeting. It was great. Lovely long chat about my training plan, and non-Scout-shaped things.
And my use of the #FullFriday hashtag this morning was unexpectedly prescient. I got a module signed off I wasn’t expecting tonight. So I’ve basically got a Full Appointment!
The Scout Halls I visited was a great facility. I saw nothing but the outside, a corridor and a small room, but sometimes you can just tell. It’s purpose built, to be clear, they aren’t utilising another organisation’s premises.
Our District seems to be taking a very sensible approach to training given the uncertainty about how the new volunteering structure will look and the modules it will entail.
I thought of an appropriately themed activity for the #Cubs Gardening Badge earlier. 🏡
I won’t go into specifics right now, but I will say it would likely be very prominent in the Scout Hut grounds.
I’ll need to give it a little more thought. Must be thorough after all. But I think it’s worth considering. I do wonder if there’s enough time to do it this year though. 🤞
