Been watching a great podcast interview with Fred Frith over the past few days... was really excited to learn that he performed and spent time with Capt Beefheart!
If you don't know his band Skeleton Crew and if you enjoy fun, active experimental rock with socialist lyricism, you should absolutely give it a listen!
I find myself turning more and more to the music and ideas of Henry Cow these days, not to mention those of the myriad spheres and satellites orbiting their sun-gone-supernova. Hard to believe their remarkable first LP was released 50 years ago this month.

I was fortunate to have seen one of their gigs at Northwestern around '83 if I recall correctly. The show had a lasting impact and permanent influence. Being introduced to #ArtBears, Frith and the whole #RalphRecords catalogue at a young age really expanded my musical palate.
