Today I fougt with 'browser mod' because I wanted to redirect the sound from to ... a browser.
I lost.
While it works on Amazon FireHD & FKB browser, it doesn't in Win&Chrome combo.

(2/) Small progress: I can stream music from #musicassistant to any of my Linux machines running Chrome browser (using browser_mod) on a first try.
But not to a Windows PC. I give up for now. I don't even know where to look for the issue. Logs show nothing of use.

Also: can't make #squeezebox (#sqeezelite client) or MusicAssistant Companion app to work on Win.

Till the next time.

The new app is getting even worse! After the last update, the local Music Library takes like 5 seconds after launch to even appear, and then AFTER YOU PLAY SOMETHING, IT DISAPPEARS ALTOGETHER.

@stooovie My feelings about have been mentioned in previous toots (spoiler: sh1t). I'm currently listening to a playlist using - it's very early days but I'm pretty impressed so far 👍

Now that indexed my mp3 archive I'm keeping and growing since 96' I found out there are 2000 albums and 24000 songs.
Looks like I'm ready for the apocalypse.

add-on for is top!
I can cross connect any music source with any output.
UI is very clean and functional.
Why I didn't found it out before?

I had missed that version 2.0 of came out recently. I tried it a while ago, and I don't think it was a 2.0 beta. This new version looks very good, I shall try it out and see how it works.

It can do a radio station based on a track, something PlexAmp struggles to do.

Oh, but just as I was typing this out I ran into a bug I had previously where the next song starts before the current one finishes properly.

The issue last time was that apparently FLAC over WiFi was causing drops and was playing the next song. I had changed the codec to AAC, but they have removed this setting in the latest version. Found a github issue that says

"As MA is designed with high quality playback in mind that option was removed. If your problem is bandwidth related then you need to improve your wifi coverage."

Which is unacceptable. I have 5 Ghz coverage and plenty of bandwidth and stable connections.

If you run a in your home, give a try. It's amazing! The power of starting an AirPlay stream from an Android device alone is gold! Music Assistant 2.0: Your Music, Your Players: https://www.home-assistant.io/blog/2024/05/09/music-assistant-2/.

I've set up for a couple of days ago, and then completely forgot about it again.

I just played around with it, and now I've got Tidal and all my local music set up as sources that I can mix and match from, and I'm (theoretically) able to control all of it through HA and play the music on my Home Minis.

I feel like I just cheated on a "here's three options, pic two" situation and just picked all three anyways.

I've gotta figure out some automations, but waking up to some music I haven't heard in years is gonna be so good :frogvibing:
