The fact that Kotlin doesn’t have an official open source LSP in this day and age, in addition to related tooling, forcing you into a single not particularly open IDE ecosystem, and the fact that the developer company straight up said its purpose is to drive up Intellij sales, makes me very apprehensive about it… good syntax or otherwise. Even Java doesn’t come with as much of a vendor lock-in, and I woudn’t wanna touch that either.

Ότι γίνεται και στο reddit αν οι mods κλείσουν ενα subreddit, αν και το content εδώ μπορεί να επιβιώσει απο community copies που υπάρχουν σε άλλα instances (θεωρητικά).
Μέχρι στιγμής το defederation δεν αποτελεί τόσο μεγάλο πρόβλημα όσο το περιγράφεις. Τα μόνα instances που κυρίως έχουν θέμα είναι το Beehaw που τρέχει μόνο με 4 (!) mods που θέλουν να το έχουν βασίλειο τους, και το Lemmygrad, όπου οι pro-Κινεζο/Ρωσικές απόψεις τους εκεί προσβάλουν το κατά κύριο λόγο δυτικό κοινό.
Γενικά πρέπει να το κρίνεις για ότι είναι, και ίσως ότι θα ήθελες να είναι. Σε σύγκριση με τους 100δες μηχανικούς του reddit και τα δυσεκατομμύρια τους, εδώ έχεις κατά κύριο λόγο 2 μονάχα νοματέους να κάνουν development, με τα donations που παίρνουν να είναι μόνο ~1500/μήνα.. Για 2 άτομα, είναι εξαιρετική δουλεία, και βελτιώνεται συνέχεια.
Ούτε το reddit ήταν αυτό που είναι σήμερα το 2008, και τότε δεν είχαν καν σοβαρό ανταγωνισμό.
Did the admins poll the community about it? Why was such measure so needed? If the tankie content is so annoying why not let users decide what they want to see or not and what they want to block?...
It's not about having the ability to "take the highway". Most people here don't seem to be getting it. It's about the way things are done.
It's still the early days of Lemmy as a whole, and things haven't yet fallen into place. People come with different expectations, especially regarding censorship, myself included. There's nothing in this instance's ruleset that gives the idea that the 4th largest Lemmy instance is unacceptable due to "commie thought" and pro-China views.
I say that as a non-communist that holds no love for China's government, but I sure as shit ain't threatened by them either.
How are they dealing in bigotry over there? And if they are under a set definition, are we to apply that definition equally to all other communities as well? Or just the commies?
