I recently got a couple of POS pc’s (Point of sale) you know the ones that are all in one with a base to sit on a counter. The thing is they’re very old non branded devices, even the label says 2GB DDR2 while it’s actually 4GB DDR3....
So, like I needed any more projects or any more computers, but I bought a receipt printer and two POS terminals. Both are Celeron J1900 I think at 3Ghz, 128G hard drive and I’m not sure of the memory. All that cost me a whopping $45, so how could I resist? Right now we’ve got the POSBANK unit working, you can see me updating...
The POSIFLEX issue might have to do with MBR. On your final linux installation, your partition table should NOT be using gpt but mbr and that might solve the issues.
It has to do with older BIOS not recognising gpt and henceforth being unable to boot from the disk.
N.B. you might have to configure your GRUB/systemd loader accordingly.

And fuck. I really miss plex. I’ve had Netflix and Hulu forever as family won’t let me cancel. Decided to sign up to Paramount + for some Trek. Twice in lower decks it didn’t save my watched episodes. Doesn’t mark episode as watched if you exit during the credits. And multiple playback issues....

I had an Intel AX201, which is basically the same device as the intel killer wifi card on the GS65.
I battled with the issue for a very long time. It came from Windows and only from Windows. You have to disable fastboot and there is a way to shut it down “fully” which you have to do.
If that does not solve it your only way out of it is to reinstall Windows.
Sorry if this was asnwered before, but couldn’t find it. I can’t seem to find any groups that usually release really small sized 4k rips like rarbg used to do. Movies went from ~5GB to ~20GB, and I really can’t tell that much difference in quality that justifies 4x the size....
I’m currently running kubuntu 23.10 and have been distro hopping a lot lately. I’m going to continue to do so but the tedium of saving everything off is a royal pain....

Because it’s not about installing them, it’s making them work that’s not intuitive. I have an nvidia card and some linux experience, it was hard for me to set it up. If you have no background on linux, making it work might make you abandon it. In those cases it’s better to go with something that has everything figured out for you.
