There has been a lot of discussion about what we should or should not allow in our community. This is not a thread to tell you about a decision, this is a thread to ask your opinion about what is acceptable, and collate this in one place....
The problem is that terms like trolling or spam are very loosely defined. Is it spam if somebody tells you to vote for some party or another? Is it trolling? How about if somebody praises KFC or tells people about a deal on some pizza?
I don't know if there is a solution but I guess this is why there is community moderation with upvotes or downvotes.
In an ideal world there would be more than two options. Ideally there would be a spam button or a troll button etc.
I just don’t know what the solution is. I guess you could force them to break up somehow but whichever entity is smaller is probably not going to be able to compete.
Hi all, as with most of you, I'm an immigrant from Reddit. I never used to go on to the NZ or regional subreddits because frankly, I felt very unwelcome and those places were extremely negative....
The first line of the Reuters story read: The Syrian army said an Israeli missile strike had briefly put the Damascus International Airport out of service, the latest in a string of strikes targeting Iran-linked assets.
This was changed to: Deadly missile strikes have briefly put the Damascus International Airport out of service, the latest in a string of attacks by Israel.
Even without analysis, it’s apparent the edit is tougher on Israel. Attribution to the Syrian army is removed, making the claim seem more definitive. The reference to “Iran-linked assets” (meaning the airport), ostensibly the justification for the strikes, is removed.
It seems to me that the Reuters story itself was biased. How is the Damascus international airport "iran linked asset"? Is it because there are flights to Iran there? Why is it OK to target and bomb civilian targets (which an international airport at a capital city is) because they are linked to Iran?
I am trying to log in on my mobile phone using chrome (not an app). I see no oauth options there so I went. into my settings and set up a password and email address for the account. I tried to log in using those but it just hangs....
Maybe there is a bug in that if you created your account with oauth then you can't ever log in normally. Of course you could be right too because I just tried with the memmy beta and it doesn't work either.
What's ok in our community?
