My assumption is that the main reason Microsoft's new Recall feature exists, is to collect massive amounts of extra training data for their LLM endeavours. That stuff is getting rare!

I haven’t formed my thoughts fully, but I think about this often: running a more ethical, less extractive and capitalist business.

I’ve spent years doing this and what surprised me was the lack of appreciation for “doing things right”. I thought there was a certain audience (often, the indie web one) who would. but mostly what I’ve seen was heavily entrenched capitalism.

Does "flexibleSpace" in for macOS not work correctly?

Anything besides a Spacer() that's required in the item?

@stroughtonsmith @ctietze In my experience, even with a sidebar tracker, flexible spaces won't do anything, when using the "everything on one row" style. You do have to use the older toolbar layout.

Just found these Apple Maps navigation screenshots from 2013. Delicious.

Same as the first screenshot, except the app is open, instead of being on the lock screen. There's a turn notification on top, which has texture and styles to look like an actual road sign, to some degree.

i’ve been a hobbyist photographer for years (mostly not taking it professional because i’ve been too tired from my tech jobs).

i just randomly got a paid job after i posted photos of a restaurant i visited one day on instagram. 😅 kind of chuffed!

@_nb @pmorinerie Si on en croit cet article c'est pas vraiment efficace, malheureusement. Ça génère bien un numéro de carte unique par commerçant ; mais ça ne masque pas tes données identifiantes (c'est nécessaire pour une transaction, j'imagine)
