Same because the Fedora Linux subbreddit helps a lot for general odd stuff that happens

KuroeNekoDemon,

Fedora Linux IT support for obscure things that break and other Linux and Windows subs because I kinda like to see what boneheaded mistake Microsoft will make next

What apps would you love to have open-source alternatives for?

It seems like the FOSS community is continuing to grow, and FOSS apps keep getting better (Immich reallh blew my mind recently), which is a big win 😎 but there are still many apps I use that I would kill for an open source alternative. I am curious what you guys think? Are there any apps you’d love alternatives for?

KuroeNekoDemon,

Streamlabs, Streamelements and Elgato, Logitech and Razer’s software. Typically applications for streaming and content creation

KuroeNekoDemon,

Wait so how well would it work for my Razer Seiren V2 Pro? Sorry I got distracted…

KuroeNekoDemon,

Or all the documentation/answers conflict with each other so now you have to play Russian Roulette with your project/system. Yes I am still salty about the hyprland nvidia page that kept me up between 2-6am EDT and confused for 13hrs. I trust the Arch and EndeavourOS wikis more for general OS stuff now tbh. For programming I like the specific documentation by the devs of their respective programming languages. If I need help: Google, Discord, Reddit, Forums or StackOverflow

For context go read: wiki.hyprland.org/Nvidia/

KuroeNekoDemon,

Um this is not going to hold up in the Ontario Consumer Protection Tribunal due to this: Ontario’s Consumer Protection Act, 2002 (“Consumer Protection Act”) prohibits mandatory arbitration clauses and class action waivers in consumer agreements.

KuroeNekoDemon,

Just give me a snippet to file a consumer protection application. It’ll get struct down

KuroeNekoDemon,

The Supreme Court of Canada ruled that these types of forced arbitration violates my province’s Consumer Protection Act

KuroeNekoDemon,

Same except that was my server (Fedora 40 Beta). I nuked it and installed Ubuntu Server on it and reinstalled everything. Works but man bad timing as I’m moving out in a month

KuroeNekoDemon,

This is how you know the UN is a complete fucking joke at this point that we still waste tax dollars on

KuroeNekoDemon, (edited )

You mean Canada? We’ve had pro choice for years. Do not assume everyone is American

Also this makes you and everyone else who does this look like an asshole so fuck off

KuroeNekoDemon,

I tried their food as they recently opened up in my city in Canada. Their chicken sandwich and waffle fries are a complete joke compared to local chains here and McDonald’s/KFC of all places. Dry af chicken, sad spice and soggy waffle fries. At a local chain I get a good Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, beautiful steak cut fries and a good drink. They just expanded to a second location here. Chick-fil-A do better

I still remember that video I watched where a line in the Steam code back in the day was titled SCARY!!! and it was rm -rf $STEAMROOT. This nuked a guy’s computer because short answer $STEAMROOT was actually / root, long answer here’s the video. This nuked both his PC and his external drive that is some pretty bad code but this JavaScript code is up there

KuroeNekoDemon,

So would it be funny if I made a meme like this except it was with the trojan horse meme template? I kinda want to

KuroeNekoDemon,

My first console was the Nintendo DS. My first PC was a Windows XP one. We still used VHS, CDs and DVDs at my parents place

KuroeNekoDemon,

Based. I love his music btw from FF4 to FF9 he’s one of my favs with Lotus Juice and Yoko Shimomura and I agree with him 100%. Movie music is boring as shit and his music is way way better

KuroeNekoDemon,

I must be too high or there’s a glitch in the simulation. This can’t be real

KuroeNekoDemon,

All I see is more Linux Servers and PCs to try Arch and Gentoo on over my Fedora desktop that I use because I need a good balance of stability and up to date software

KuroeNekoDemon,

As someone with ADHD this is exactly what happened to ne when I switched to Linux. Continues to keep me occupied 3 months later

KuroeNekoDemon,

Fun fact whenever I go back to my parents place I still see their old Windows 7 desktop alive and well for over 10 years and they don’t care it just works

Microsoft says Russian hackers breached its systems, accessed source code (www.bleepingcomputer.com)

Microsoft reported a breach by Russian group ‘Midnight Blizzard,’ which accessed internal systems and source code using stolen authentication secrets from a January cyberattack. The unauthorized access was facilitated by a compromised non-production test account lacking multi-factor authentication and linked to an OAuth app...

KuroeNekoDemon,

I really hope gnu.org doesn’t get hacked and gets the graphical source code! /s
