got to say, the update went smoothly and didn’t need to touch any configs.

Feels quite a bit smoother than the KDE 5 on this aging hardware (i5-2320, igpu, 16GB ram, sata ssd). <3

I can now even “alt-tab” backwards with shift! That just didn’t work previously!

I’m kinda amazed it wasn’t DOOM again. Damn cool project!

huh, oddly similar to Areena -games, same dev?

edit: steamcommunity.com/app/…/1752399266011808611/ - different dev, but says Areena is a big inspiration.

I might have missed something VERY obvious - I did skim through check the mkinitcpio, grub and microcode wikipages - but just merging .pacnew to current config (mkinitcpio, grub defaults), mkinitcpio -p linux and grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg, newly created grub.conf still had intel-ucode on the initrd -line. This happened on both machines I have atm.

Arch forums had the magic words here: bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=2154769#p2154…

Add this line to /etc/default/grub then regenerate grub.cfg:

GRUB_EARLY_INITRD_LINUX_STOCK=‘’

and then my grub.cfg generated fine without the intel-ucode, and after rebooting dmesg seems to indicate the new method works fine

</span><span style="color:#323232;">[    0.314433] microcode: Updated early from: 0x00000014
</span>

Always something :P

    Hi, what’s up?

    Malix,
    @Malix@sopuli.xyz avatar

    Doesn’t look half bad to me… but then again, I’m a man in my 40s and buy clothes out of nescessity, so what do I know. :D

    when the company as allocated at most 5 seconds per delivery and you’ve already spent 3, reading instructions is not going to happen. Gotta go fast

    menu -> print -> “save as pdf”? seems to be there just like it’s on desktop version

    if the DoB has been on the account for years (presumably) from creation, kinda odd how this pops up now… checks like that should trigger on creation/change o_O

    gotta start somewhere, at current I think I’d prefer the original look of the game. The rt kinda looks very odd, but that’s probably due to the lack of real directional light, surface normal/bump maps (ie. all surfaces look flat, regardless of texture) and entirely uniform roughness (ie. steel and dirt are equally shiny) kinda makes it look more “plastic” than the original.

    But good stuff, regardless. :)

    so… definitely control 2 incoming at some point? nice!

    Malix,
    @Malix@sopuli.xyz avatar

    so… is this like pvp-only on a server, or is there a coop pve which works as self-hosted?

    My masterplan was to do a “quick” exploration trip to beaglepoint and then buy a stupidly armored and armed t10 (that was the combat version of space cow, yea?). This post kinda makes me rethink the whole plan.

    I left on the trip years a go, reached beagle point and kinda … Just not played since. :D

    ctrl+(shift)+tab to next/prev tab? I don’t think there’s any direct shortcut to go to eg. tab 34.

    Weekly progress update on the Warmaster Titan! The legs are fully assembled and posed. This is a BIG model. I'm fairly sure the sizing is within an acceptable margin of error based off the height chart GW put out. Especially given that the Knight has a waist extender giving it a bit more height.

    3d printed Warmaster Titan model with a Chaos Knight model in front of it for size comparison. The top of the Knight model barely comes up to the Titan's knee joint.

    also, competitor or not, they are still (mostly) portable Steam machines, propagating Valve’s storefront.

    Sure, they probably can use others, but… still?

    not only the ux, some devs make it absurdly confusing to find a binary.

    I don’t want to throw anyone under the bus, but there’s this one niche app.

    their github releases at one point were YEARS out of date, they only linked to the current version in seemingly random issue reports’ comments. And the current versions were some daily build artefacts you could find in a navigation tree many clicks deep in some unrelated website. And you’d better be savvy enough to download a successfully built artefact too. And even then the downloaded .zip contained all kinds of fluff unnescessary for using the app.

    The app worked fine, sure, but actually obtaining it was fairly tricky, tbh.

    Malix,
    @Malix@sopuli.xyz avatar

    absolutely, but they were in general (IIRC) suggesting them for the main downloads, but just not telling anyone outside the comments, which was the weird part

    Malix,
    @Malix@sopuli.xyz avatar

    right? Wonder if we get to clean a great unclean one, or the golden throne? “Yo, where do I put the skeleton, bio or energy waste?”

    edit: also pointed out in the video comments, kinda odd that this wasn’t done with Viscera Cleanup Detail yet.

    dunno how many other games have 40k themed dlc, but eitherway that seems to be the case.

    also, in case if anyone is interested, did some digging and there is one warhammer game which was E as well, esrb.org/…/warhammer-shadow-of-the-horned-rat/ - seems like all 40k related are at minimum T-rated so far.

    It seems like it was free to play only for a week, during their 5 year anniversary.

    Dang, I missed it and I would have liked to at least try it, but… eh. Probably nothing of worth was lost.
