She can apply but it doesn’t mean she’ll get it. It’s being expanded to allow consideration for mental conditions. There’s still a ton of hoops and second opinions needed to get approved.
There is way too much misinformation and sensationalism over MAID
I think you’re confusing the US definition of liberal with the definition of liberal in near the rest of the world. Even in Canada the Liberals are centre at best
Ahh gotcha, I wasn’t sure. And yeah the Liberals here are like progressive classic conservatives. They’re not insane like current conservatives but they like to maintain the current status quo and will occasionally give us something like dental care but limit it to a very small subset of people. And that’s only if forced to by the supporting left leaning party (NDP).
Not American but the US had an extremely high tax rate on the rich for most of its prosperous years. It was only recent removed and you now have massive wealth inequality
I think to sign out you have to go to manage accounts and delete your account. The wording is a bit scary but it’s just removing your user from memmy. The only issue (it might have just been me) is that the add account button wasn’t working, so when I did this I had to reinstall the app to log back in.

I’m not sure if you’ve tried this PWA called Wefwef but it feels like a fully featured Apollo client for Lemmy already. You just go to the site and add it to your home screen. No beta to sign up for. No TestFlight link. Just add the PWA....
He kind of already has implemented something like this. If you ever try and load a mobile reddit thread in your browser, you're greeted with a download the app-wall like 50% or more of the time.
This start to the summer has just been crap. It's been cyclically too hot, then too rainy, then too dry and then too fiery. I guess this will just become the new normal for Ottawa as the climate emergency really takes hold.
Congrats Toronto! I'm jealous you guys got to actually vote in someone progressive (I'm from Ottawa and we recently voted to slightly lower property taxes over everything else)
It's pretty nice if you're into programming articles! I wouldn't say it's a full reddit replacement since it's more geared to programmers, similar to hacker news but I think it's worth having around. There's also a decent mobile app for iOS called Claw
With all these new bot instances popping up, have you already seen these accounts actually raiding stuff? And can/do we defederate from those instances?
