OsrsNeedsF2P,

More like “Joanne got a promotion for integrating X!”, followed by “Mike got a promotion by saving the company 2M/year!”

OsrsNeedsF2P,

Is it neutral? Nintendo integrating with X both advertises X and Nintendo

OsrsNeedsF2P,

Was he a bad CM? I almost got myself fired from my previous game dev gig standing up for the players. Sometimes upper management pisses you off that much

Edit: looks like he was a bad CM

OsrsNeedsF2P,

Wow I would love it if women looked at me as I worked out /s

OsrsNeedsF2P,

Because you have violent tendencies that cloud your clarity of thought

OsrsNeedsF2P,

On one hand, yea I don’t want brain damage. On the other hand, if it means I can move robotic limbs after being paralyzed, maybe it’s still worth it?

Like the idea of having neural interfaces that don’t penetrate the brain is obviously great, but if that tech doesn’t come for another 50 years, what are the current people going to do instead?

I’m not on the waiting list for Neuralink, but if I’m gonna be honest, the hate for it is over amplified.

OsrsNeedsF2P,

Is it terrible that Elon can decide these things? Because no one else is as close to succeeding, and Elon’s not forcing me to do it

OsrsNeedsF2P,

Ok but you haven’t addressed the point that no one else is as close to doing it…

OsrsNeedsF2P,

I just wanted to let you know this comment made me laugh like an idiot in front of my coworkers

OsrsNeedsF2P,

Lemmy.ml was originally only federated with Lemmygrad.ml, so most people who stayed around in those days were quasitankie themselves

OsrsNeedsF2P,

Err… Like… a 2009 Java applet? Those were built straight on TCP. And the lack of security let anyone else in the same LAN cafe steal your password.

The closest thing I can think of that goes for the vibe you’re talking about is I2P

OsrsNeedsF2P,

People have that attitude in Korea, now the average number of children per woman is 0.7

Not per person, per woman

OsrsNeedsF2P,

Despite your downvotes, I actually agree it’s not a bad thing (especially from a global sustainability perspective) but a drop that sharp is causing huge problems in Korea

As someone who rehosts an old game after the official servers shutdown, we have a dedicated servers for cheating and real moderators for the non-cheat ones. It works great but big corps don’t way to pay for mods.

I also wonder why big companies don’t do it to train ML algorithms on the cheat server data too…

OsrsNeedsF2P,

I feel like people are missing the point of the daughter stuff being fed. It doesn’t matter if it was 1 in 4 verses, it matters that Kendrick unintentionally lied.

As someone who doesn’t follow the scene much, I am confused about one thing though. Does Drake not have a daughter, or is it just the information about the daughter was wrong?

OsrsNeedsF2P,

That’s it…? That’s all it takes to bypass anticheat?

As someone who spent 5 years making games, and 3 years in the industry, GAMES SHOULD BE FREE.

Good games come from passionate developers. Even the first major releases of Godot was built on the backs of 3 open source developers and some contributors. But when I started working for a gaming company, I saw the sleezy PMs look at players as nothing more than numbers on spreadsheets, fun features take the backseat to more monetization, and all the good content that made the game fun come from developers working overtime to make it happen.

People inherently want to make fun games. It’s the hyper competitive toxic industry that’s holding everyone back.

OsrsNeedsF2P,

I think industries that pray on people who like their job end up making worse quality products

OsrsNeedsF2P,

As someone who ran BTRFS for years, I’m personally switching back to EXT4. Yes, the compression and other features are nice, but when things go wrong and you have to do a recovery, it’s not worth the complexity

OsrsNeedsF2P,

When booting into a live CD, mounting the various subpartitions is super annoying.

When your disk space hits full, things break uncontrollably because different programs don’t have a consistent measurement of how much space is left.

When shrinking partitions, you can lose data if you shrink it too much. I’m not talking about forced overrides of any configs, I’m talking about things like KDE Partition Manager.

All of these things can be excused one way or another, but at the end of the day I just want a stable filesystem that doesn’t lose my docs.

OsrsNeedsF2P,

Lemme say this - While complex, I can vouch for recovering files on BTRFS. I can’t vouch for recovering files on ext4, because I never had to.
