Rail painting is now finished, so I took the 08 for a spin to see if it still worked. After some scrubbing and scraping I got nice smooth running. Next step is to glue the track down.

Major surgery, a family bereavement, and an elderly family member (hopefully) moving to be nearer home have all delayed the start of the ground works for the Tyne Tebay Freight Line

But the planning has continued, and the ground works should start in earnest this winter…

In preparation we now have the combination of old world technology and modern technology - the ‘Laser LowMac Wagon’ to assist with laying the boards and the tracks

Treated myself to a new this week for my British micro-layout.
I love the utility of a basic, unfitted (no train brakes) 12 ton van!
This is an old Dapol model and originally from - remember them?

The Whitley bomber is repainted, following the slight hoo-ha over the weekend where the paint ripped off with the masking tape.

This time I repainted the upper wing camouflage first, then painted the roundels. I’ll need to restore the underside paint, and stick back on the little bits removed for safe-keeping, but otherwise I’m done.

@snaptophobic I don’t “do” aircraft but that looks rather nice! Are the roundels not available as a decal, or do you just prefer to paint them?

Productive day, converting a 50 litre plastic storage box into a model aircraft hangar.

Each model is supported on foamboard "trestles" so it doesn’t sit on its undercarriage, and is prevented from moving about to prevent damage during transport. I managed to get eight models fitted into two decks. There’s space for at least one more small model.

A blue circular sticker, with eight yellow stars around the circumference. It also reads 50L capacity.

@snaptophobic I hope no propeller blades were snapped-off in the making of that box! Neat solution - and I thought transporting model trains was fraught with difficulty!
