I told a certain person off not because I want to somehow condone @dettlaff's clearly idiotic behaviour. This also had nothing to do with Russia or nazis or ableism apologists or whatever else of sort.

It was because I have zero tolerance threshold for bullying and petty blackmail, especially from people I thought I'm on the same team with. I'm taking no such shit, whoever you are.

While reading today's infamous thread, I also thought about how we should interact with mentally unstable people on social platforms.
Curiously, I came to the same conclusion: it's our responsibility to tread carefully. If you have to say something, say it once. But if you see that you provoked an emotional response, it is wiser to stop. Nothing good will come from it.

М-м-м. Знакомое чувство, когда ощущаешь себя говном при творческой работе.

Пилю систему и кажется, что она никому не нужна, ещё одна бесполезная заготовка, в которую никто не будет играть. При этом, мне достаточно, чтобы в неё играли хотя бы я и друзья. Тем более, что истории будут меняться и я буду периодически уходить на другие системы. Но это паскудное ощущение того, что ты говно, которое ничего не умеет, оно остается.

Такие дела.

@a1ba синдром существует, но этот случай и правда, кажется, про другое.
По крайней мере, если я правильно понял @TrueSnowBuddy, это больше про перфекционизм. Хочется, чтобы сразу всё получилось идеально и ты не потратил время зря.
Тут я бы сказал, что любая творечская работа - не зря по определению. Твой скилл растёт, навык отрабатывается, мозг привыкает к таким задачам. Даже если ты сделал что-то, чем действительно никто не воспользуется, ты прокачался и в следующий раз потратишь меньше сил на то, что в итоге окажется востребовано.

Ты легко можешь сказать левому человеку: блин, ну ты уже 10 лет в отрасли занимаешься одним и тем же. Ну наверное уже можно считать себя опытным специалистом. В общем-то, даже профессионалом.
Только сказать такое самому себе гораздо сложнее) Если ты уже живёшь с этим синдромом, то ты чаще зацикливаешься на неудачах, а любое достижение кажется тебе жульничеством: тут повезло, тут коллеги помогли, тут и делать ничего не пришлось. В итоге весь профессиональный путь тебе представляется как одна большая череда везений, которая вот-вот закночится.
Секрет тут прост: все работают приблизительно одинаково. Отличие в том, что уверенные в себе люди, наоборот, ошибки воспринимают как случайности, а успехи - как результат исключяительно своих усилий.

I've been pondering the idea of super-minimalistic (but still HA-enabled) Fediverse engine that only supports text data of fixed size (customizable by the admin), and all the features like polls and interactions but no media like images or videos or emojis or whatever else, written in something like Go.

Something you can stick on a RPI3 with 32 gigs of SD card and it will last you for a decade. Or you can install it on a couple of servers at your workplace and it will run stealthily basically forever.

The point would be, - first - because limitations are fun, and second - to promote self-hosting. If you can't afford to host anything else, you can at least host this.

@mudasobwa If we're sharing fun facts here, let me remind you that 72.17% of desktop computers use Windows and 76.4% of websites use PHP. What does it speak for? 😆
Show me some fresh benchmarks, because from what I can found, Elixir is no match for Go in terms of speed, memory consumption or CPU utilization
