Before swearing to the Shadow Sammael was known as Tel Janin Aellinsar, a world-renowned sportsman, excelling in a number of events, including archery, and a bloodless competition with swords. In this sport he was world champion. Reportedly he was a friend of Lews Therin Telamon, before the War of Power.

After Dumai's Well Rand sees enemies everywhere. With Darkfriends and Black Ajah hiding in plain sight it's not easy for our heroes to know who to trust. On top of that there are plenty who follow the Light but still want to hurt the Dragon.
How do you think the huge number of threats and enemies in the series was handled?
