TinyBreak,

Toddler woke up screaming, woke the cat. While im settling the toddler cats giving me this look of death. I said sorry. He replied by going to claw the shit out of the armchair

TinyBreak,

If he happy if it hit him several times in fact.

TinyBreak,

Yeah so gotta admit apricot chicken is maybe one better left to historyโ€ฆ that wasโ€ฆ. Not great.

TinyBreak,

The recipie called for chicken thighs, browned before going in the oven. Tbh the flavours just didnโ€™t work together at all. You could individually taste the apricot, the French onion and the chicken but they didnโ€™t fuse together. Iโ€™d deffo cook chicken like that again, but yeahโ€ฆ not with those flavours.

TinyBreak,

Yeah I guess itโ€™s just one of those โ€œthis is your thing or itโ€™s absolutely notโ€ kind of flavours. Mrs said I did a great job with it, but the taste was just aweful.

TinyBreak,

The gravy ended up pretty thick. It called for nectar and canned fruit. The fruit part was pretty nice. The French onion soup? Less so.

TinyBreak,

Everyone keeps saying this, but Iโ€™m yet to find a decent Asian grocer like this. We donโ€™t have Asian grocers in my suburb, just Indian grocers and they are very different.

TinyBreak,

A small tactical nuke would solve a lot of this cities problems.

TinyBreak, (edited )

deal with the knob

not sure an employee of your level should be doing that at work. edit: also congrats!

TinyBreak,

onions. Cant eat 'em. Garlic isnt much better.

TinyBreak,

Anyone here got both a manual and auto in the house? Does it ever get easier? Weโ€™re about 2-3 months in of having both and I gotta be honest, 2 seems to be 1 more than I can count. Iโ€™m fine after a day or 2 in 1, but each time I jump in the other after a little while it is ROUGH.

TinyBreak,

Agreed. Love a manual, but the auto has its uses. Stop start traffic along the monash in a manual isnt a ton of fun. And sadly the wait time on the SUV with a manaul was over 2 years, where as I could get the auto straight awayโ€ฆ sadly a no brainer. At least its a REAL auto none of this CVT BS.

TinyBreak,

Oh man, I thought you were cool haha Manual for life here. Auto I can deal with. CVT is a non starter for me.

TinyBreak,

Until someone can demonstrate benefits of manual over auto for daily driving, my stance will remain unchanged.

Daily? Nope. but on a drive for fun? All day. If I go for a drive to relax (pretty rare these days) doing it in the manual makes me part of the experience. Iโ€™m working with the machine. Each corner I hit at the right rpm is a small victory or achievement, and the feeling of the momentum carrying through the corners is all the more special because I DID it. Jesus I sound like a Subaru driver.

TinyBreak,

lmao! So its not just me? I go for the clutch in the auto, then forget it when starting the manual when its left in gear. Youโ€™d think โ€œBrand new modern SUVโ€ and โ€œDated 2000โ€™s Hatchโ€ would be enough for my brain to register, but no.

TinyBreak,

As a teen it was my escape, so itโ€™s got a strong emotional thing for me. That probably makes it.

TinyBreak,

Patsa, Pasata, Beans, Rice, Canned Fish, Frozen Veg, eggs, herbs/seasoning. You can make a ton of stuff from just those items. Get as MUCH as you can from Aldi too. The aldi pasta is god tier when compared to Woolies home brand. Iโ€™d probably just skip aldiโ€™s tuna.

Another good option is NEVER cook a meal for 1 meal. Batch cook. Make some soup or bolognese and freeze multiple serves from it, a big batch of chicken stroganoff reheats super well. Our Freezer has got like 10-20 meals ready to go at any point.

TinyBreak,

I think I like metal nowโ€ฆ I mean, soft metalโ€ฆ but I keep listening to all these Electric Callboy songs. I prefer the non-screaming bits, but appreciate value the screaming gives to the overall experience.

TinyBreak,

When we adopted our void

You dont adopt a void. Voids adopt you.

TinyBreak,

Tried to mellow the extra spicy ramen I accidentally brought a 4 pack off cause Iโ€™m trying to waste less food. I managed to get 3/4 of the way through the bowl before losing it. My lips are on fire!

TinyBreak,

thats what i did yeah, half the spicy soup mix, add some vegtable stock and some chicken salt. Still a tad too spicy for me.

TinyBreak,

I hear you. And I get it, I do. Itโ€™s just that from what youโ€™ve said about this dude it really sounds like heโ€™s more antagonist than companion.

TinyBreak,

This feels like a real obvious one, but Iโ€™ll share for those who donโ€™t know: petrolspy.com.au/mapAlways check this or any of the hundreds of sites like it before filling up. if petrol prices are high thereโ€™s no shame in chucking in 20 bucks and waiting for a better price.

TinyBreak,

yeah that makes it tough as heck. Woolies and coles just end up taking advantage of battlers doing it tough.
