@BlindiRL Please let me know how stable/functional it is for recording/streaming! I'd love to make the switch somewhat, but the sheer number of games I cover makes it difficult to escape Windows.
Tried out Set A Watch: Forsaken Isles for boardgame night. Definitely one of the more unique takes on cooperative card crawling I've seen so far, and it was a lot of fun skunking the enemy deck full of largely harmless rodents.
Tried out the new Lorcana co-op mode with Chelle for our boardgame night. I really like the idea & presentation of it, but the boss wasn't as much of a threat as it was just a doomsday timer.
Definitely glad to see them trying new formats though and I hope they keep improving it
I'm all ears if someone has a better term for this, or halfway convenient solutions to covering a wider range of solid games in a reasonably short period of time.
@wawe Yeah that one's tough. I guess the best would be to send targeted emails to the channels you think have the highest possible chance of covering your game, and then broadening your approach as you go down your list.
I personally check my spam daily, but I can't say whether other creators do or don't.
I'll also admit that I'm a huge sucker for post-post apocalyptic games of any variety, and the idea of rebuilding civilization while clearing out/managing pollution was very gratifying.
Just tried out Baladins with my partner earlier tonight and had a lovely time with it! They perfectly distilled what makes adventure games feel so good alongside a ton of narrative charm.
Probably the best date night game I've played in a long while.
Dang the Paradise Killer OST kinda rules? I still need to sit down and play the game someday, but I gave the soundtrack a shot today while working on boring business stuff and now I'm groovin pretty hard.
I interviewed the lead artist/animator/developer of Berserk Boy - a lightning fast action platformer inspired by Mega Man and Sonic, but with tons of fun twists and modern quality of life!
It just came out today on Steam & Switch, and I've had a blast playing it!
The longer I work in this industry there is something I have noticed. The more notoriety people gain the higher their own sense of self importance gets. This seems to make people less receptive to feedback. Its something I've noticed in myself as well as in my peers. People take criticism as a net negative to be ignored and not an observation made by another individual with a different perspective than your own.
@BlindiRL From my own experiences, I've been subjected to such a wide range of undesired and often harmful criticism that I just automatically tune it out now. Unless it's directly from someone I see as a peer, but that's so rare that it's a statistical anomaly.
Most YouTube thumbnails are either 1280 x 720 or 1920 x 1080 - so assets ideally should be scaled accordingly. Or way larger, since we can just scale them down!
Big plus if the key art is in a PSD with layers too! That way we can move/remove pieces as necessary.
